Postdoctoral positions -

No positions are currently open, but if you are willing to apply for your own funding (see Postdoctoral fellowships) I will consider your application.

Graduate Students - I anticipate having two openings for PhD graduate students in Fall 2008. One position will be for modeling CO2 capture with functionalized amines in collaboration with NETL, and the other position will be synthesizing alkali-based CO2 sorbents for high temperature CO2 capture applications (also in collaboration with NETL). Details for these projects will be available after I present them to the new PhD class sometime in October.

I may have openings for M.S. projects. Details will also be available after I have presented the projects to the new PhD class.

I encourage all graduate students to apply for their own funding (see resources here: graduate fellowships).

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon does not accept students into individual research groups. If you are interested in coming to CMU to work in my group you should apply at http://www.cheme.cmu.edu/admissions/application.htm.  If you are accepted you will have the opportunity to join many different research groups, including mine.

Undergraduate Students - All positions for Fall 2008 have been filled.

Interested undergraduate students should consider applying for a Small Undergraduate Research Grant:  http://www.cmu.edu/uro/surg_front.htm.
